Hallo laat ik mij aan u voorstellen, Ik ben John Lemmen,


Ik ben eigenlijk altijd wel verbonden geweest met het sprookjespark.
Het begon vanaf mijn geboorte al, een Anton Pieck geboortekaartje werd verstuurd. 
Het klinkt al als een sprookje

Maar laat ik nu echt gaan beginnen het begon als volgt : In jaar 1985 maakte ik voor het eerst kennis met het attractiepark met mijn ouders. Ik was niet weg te krijgen bij de Indische waterlelies en was doodsbang voor de grote aap in het Carnaval Festival 

Via school gingen we ook standaard ieder jaar na de Efteling en toen begon ik ook echt zeer onder de indruk te zijn hoe het daar allemaal is. Een attractiepark wat mij raakte wat andere attractieparken niet bij mij deden. 
Ik sprak en tekende er als kind heel veel over. We hadden in de klas dia’s en posters van de Efteling hangen. Ik keek als het kon er ook best veel naar, het maakte mij enorm nieuwsgierig. Vooral omdat het park zo fijn en als een veilige haven voelde waarbij je alles kon loslaten . Ik mocht de posters en dia’s later ook hebben van school .


Ik had van kleins af aan een grote wens wat vele hier vast wel hadden of hebben? Wat je later als beroep zou willen aannemen als je echte baan. Ik wilde zelf enorm graag in de Efteling gaan werken. Ik draaide bij m’n ouders in het bedrijf van toen veel Efteling muziek. Medewerkers vonden dat ook enorm leuk dat ik zo’n liefhebber was voor de Efteling.
Iemand van de werknemers had familie bij de Efteling werken en ze hoorde over m’n hobby ik kreeg soms iets leuks van ze waaronder: de lopende Pardoes en meer cadeau! Hier ben ik nog steeds heel erg blij mee en ga ik ook nooit weg doen.

Jaren gingen voorbij en die wens bleef aanwezig om daar te willen gaan werken.

In jaar 1997 besloot ik bij het attractiepark te willen gaan solliciteren! Toentertijd was er nog geen e-mail en ging dat per brief! De sollicitatie werd verzorgd door uitzendbureau Randstad, Vogel rok was toen nog volop in aanbouw. 
Je zag de achtbaan volledig zonder gebouw. 
Tijdens de sollicitatie klapte ik tijdens het gesprek dicht! Omdat het nu echt een sollicitatie bij de enige echte Efteling was! En kreeg ik later telefonisch te horen dat ik het niet geworden was! 

Heel jammer maar toch hield ik mij vast aan m’n droom! Ik had als nog een jaartje gewacht. 
In het jaar 1998 wederom op sollicitatie en kreeg ik gesprek met 2 van de Efteling afdeling chefs m’n opa en me moeder waren erbij. 
Ik kreeg ook de kans om eindelijk m’n Efteling passie te kunnen vertellen over dat ik al jaren in hun attractiepark kwam en dat ik een Efteling tuin had. 
Uiteindelijk zeiden ze ook dat ze met iets bijzonders gingen komen! 
Toentertijd was er Henny Huijsman met de surprise show. Waar ik het gesprek mee had de desbetreffende chefs zeiden mij tijdens de sollicitatie dat ze voor een keertje wel in de schoenen van Henny Huijsman wilde stappen en dat de droom bij de Efteling in werking werd gezet. 
Ik was compleet sprakeloos! Er werd plotsklaps gebeld na een andere afdeling, ze wilde ons gratis het park in sturen! 
Het was een hele happening! M’n opa was al heel lang niet meer in het park geweest en was zeer onder de indruk van het alles en vooral van Fata Morgana. Ik vertelde later op school en familie enz dat ik was aangenomen bij de Efteling hele toffe reacties gehoord. Ik was de enige die daar een baan had van m’n school.

Ik moest een dagje proef draaien dus een verlof dagje opnemen bij school.
Ik mocht in de milieudienst aan de slag dat was hoofdzakelijk het park schoonhouden maar was wel voor kortere duur. 
Kwam bij het gezin terecht familie van een oud medewerker, bij mijn ouders in dienst. Ik had bij hun een kamer zo’n 10 min van de Efteling af. Het gezin was ook werkzaam bij de Efteling de moeder van dat gezin werkte bij het Efteling kleding magazijn voor personeel en z’n zoon als afdeling’s chef in West.
M’n ogen gingen open wat ik daar allemaal mocht zien en meemaken een tijd om nooit te vergeten. Ik had gewerkt op het Anton Pieckplein waarbij ik draaimolens en volk Laaf raampjes schoonvegen mocht inclusief Holle bolle Gijs die iedere schoonmaakbeurt ook letterlijk dankjewel zij! Een sprookje dat uitkwam! Wat bij geen enkele collega voorkwam.

Pardoes de Tovernar

In mijn werk periode had Pardoes de tovernar nog geen echte vaste plaats om bezoekers te begroeten en op de foto te gaan. Opeens kwam het karretje van Pardoes op het Anton Pieckplein. En stopte bij de Anton pieck draaimolen. De dame die Pardoes ondersteunde liep naar mij toe en vroeg of Pardoes 1 a 2 rondjes op de Anton Pieck draaimolen mee mocht draaien! Uiteraard ging ik helemaal in op de vraag! Pardoes had de grootste lol en betrekte mij er compleet bij. Op het einde liep Pardoes de tovernar naar mij toe en gaf mij een dikke High five. Zo’n magisch moment!

Ook kwam het eens voor dat ik op andere locaties werkzaam was waaronder Droomvlucht op de lopende band in en uitgang , Villa Volta bij de ingang poortjes en hoofdshow oftewel Hugo’s huiskamer!

Villa Volta

Soms hadden we een hilarisch moment onder elkaar.De collega die alle knoppen bediende vertelde in de hoofdshow dat er een collega jarig was terwijl dat niet het geval was! Iedereen applaudisseerde in de hoofdshow wat een enorm grappig moment was.

Ook heb ik op de Efteling hoofd parkeerplaats mogen werken. Waarbij ik de gast naar hun desbetreffende parkeerplaats moest begeleiden!

Ook kregen op een dag Efteling medewerkers training waar je bewust werd gemaakt hoe je moet reageren op een andere situatie! Omdat iedere gast verschillend is. Daarna werd afgesloten met een rondleiding bij attractie naar keuze. Een heuse vriendelijke dame van Efteling communicatie afdeling vertegenwoordigde de rondleiding! We waren met een grote groep. De keuze werd snel gemaakt Spookslot & Villa Volta zouden het zijn! Het was een totaal andere wereld die voor de buiten gasten niet gezien werd! Maar wel ontzettend boeiend voor de echte Efteling liefhebbers. Zo had ik de mogelijkheid om deel te mogen nemen in de spook carrousel in de heuse kelder van het Spookslot. Later op de dag kreeg ik van parkgasten te horen tijdens mijn werk of ik nagemaakt was in spookslot. Erg leuk

Spontane Rondleiding 

Zelf heb ik ook een spontane rondleiding gehad van mijn afdelings chef bij Droomvlucht. Was echt sprakeloos! De Droomvlucht scènes in elke hoek hoogte en onder de scènes mogen zien.

Nieuwe plannen voor het Anton Pieckplein,

Er waren heuse plannen voor het Anton Pieckplein. Deze plannen. werden aan de keukentafel in onze kantine bekend gemaakt. Waardoor we al het ontwerp mochten zien en de bouwtekeningen voor het jaar 2003. Zoals wij het Anton
Pieckplein nu kennen.

Ik heb het park nooit kunnen loslaten zoals jullie lezen. Of het nou kei oud is of splinternieuw qua attractie’s ,sprookjes ik omarmd het met alle liefde. Ik heb nu ook een facebook-groep sinds 6 jaar de (Wereld vol wonderen Efteling fanclub) waar wij  samen met m’n compagnon enorm trots op zijn. We komen er veel in de Efteling. Ik kreeg vroeger in mijn schooltijd toen ik werkzaam was bij de Efteling ook spontane bezoekjes in het park van leerkrachten en klasgenoten en familie ze kwamen kijken hoe ik daar werkte zo tof was dat!

Nu tegenwoordig heb ik een jaar-abonnement op de Efteling en het Efteling virus heb ik nog steeds de Efteling blijft mij nog steeds verwonderen. Na jaren kwam ik weer beetje in contact met de leerkrachten en ze boden ook letterlijk als school hun excuses aan dat ze mij zo’n Efteling fan gemaakt hadden! Ik moest wel even lachen en vertelde ook dat ik er nog steeds kom met heel veel plezier.

Bijzondere herinneringen,

Na heel wat jaren zijn er nog zeer bijzondere dingen gebeurd!

Opening Vogel Rok

Een speciale uitnodiging voor Opening Vogel Rok. Ook hier was was de Efteling nog in Winterslaap. Er waren drank en hapjes aanwezig en na afloop een rit mogen maken in Vogel Rok. Toen waren er in de wachtrij interactieve elementen en tussendoor de lasershow. Zodat het wachten aangenamer was!

Opening de Vliegende Hollander 

Ik mocht tevens aanwezig bij de opening van De Vliegende Hollander. Terwijl het attractiepark nog in zijn winterslaap was. Zeer bijzonder moment waarbij er veel genodigden aanwezig waren. Eén moment om nooit te vergeten.

Voormalig ontwerper Ton van de Ven

Een dagje in het attractiepark heerlijk door het park aan het wandelen! Ineens kwam Ton van de Ven aangelopen! Ik begroeten Ton van de Ven en hij reageerde met een glimlach terug en zwaaide. Mijn dag kon niet meer stuk. Paar maanden erna kregen wij het verdrietige nieuws te horen dat Ton van de Ven overleden was. Namelijk 16 September 2015. Ik was even diep geraakt! Enorm blij dat ik hem nog heb kunnen begroeten! De Efteling was Ton van de Ven zijn kindje.

Preview Sprookje De zes zwanen

Er waren afgesloten hekken rondom het sprookje bij vertoning van de uitnodiging mocht je een kijkje nemen bij het sprookje en in de zwanen gaan zitten. Dus 2 opties mogelijk. Altijd ontzettend leuk om bijna als eerste iets te ontdekken in de Efteling. De ontwerper nog complimenten geven over zijn prachtige projecten. Mijn dag was compleet.

Eerste Openingsdagen Sprookjes

Het Meisje met de zwavelstokjes

E stond op de eerste dag een mega lange rij om het sprookje te kunnen zien. En wat indrukwekkend was het iedereen was mega stil.

Assepoester

Eerste dag was tevens hier ook een mega lange rij door de tuin van het Assepoester landhuys.Stiefzussen van Assepoester waren ook aanwezig in de tuin en hadden interactie met de wachtende bezoekers 

Openingsdag Python

Er werden exclusieve souvenirs verkocht onder andere een Python moer pins truien en meer. Er stond een mega lange rij tot aan de Meermin. Later werden er nummers uitgewisseld zodat je zeker wist. Dat je in bezit was waarvan een van exclusieve Python souvenirs. De Python liep weer heel soepel door de baan.

André Rieu

In de Efteling kwam André Rieu zijn show geven op het voorplein van het imposante Efteling theater. (André Rieu in Wonderland) is een concert van de Limburgse violist André Rieu, opgenomen op verschillende locaties in de Efteling in juni 2007. De concerten zijn uitgezonden op tv (op 16 en 23 november 2007 bij de TROS en
er worden dvd's en cd's van verkocht. Het was een fantastische show om nooit te vergeten zo magisch. En waar kun je dat beter dan in de Efteling. Tijdens een regenachtige bui was er kort pauze ingelast en kregen wij drankjes onder de kap van Huys van de Vijfzintuigen aangeboden. Tevens was de voorstelling afgelopen maar de opnames gingen nog even door. André Rieu vertelde dat wij als gast nog wel mochten blijven zitten. Achteraf bij het kopen van de dvd Kwam ik erachter dat ik was opgenomen. In het lied met de Droomvlucht bewoners echt mega fantastisch. Het mooiste cadeau wat je iemand kunt geven. Vele uren teruggedraaid en genoten.

Verzamelen

Ik verzamel Efteling items waarbij ik een zeer oude Roodkapje & Langnek beeldje op de kop wist te tikken. Die ik dubbel had. Heb zelf goed nagedacht welke bestemmingen opties ik zou gaan nemen. Verkopen of de Efteling benaderen? Uiteindelijk had ik de Efteling benaderd! En kreeg zeer snel bericht terug van het Efteling archief. Dat ze interesse hadden. Uiteindelijk een afspraak gepland met de Efteling Archivaris! Trots dat ik was. Ben toen naar de Efteling afgereisd. Er ontstond een zeer aangenaam gesprek met de echte Efteling Archivaris. Daarna de beeldjes overgedragen aan de Efteling. Met de voorwaarde dat ze tentoongesteld zouden worden in de ruimte van Toon en Bets dat vonden ze goed! Dat is de ruimte waar de televisie staat. Inmiddels staan de beeldjes nu jaren tentoongesteld. Ze staan in de rechtse vitrine bij de deur naar buiten! Aan de kant waar je het poppentheater en de gekroonde Eend ziet.

Sluiting attractie’s

Laatste openingsdag van de Bob

Het was een zeer bijzondere dag en een allerlaatste rit kunnen maken in de Bob waarbij er een pin werd verkocht shirts button en vlaggetjes! Ter afsluiting kwam Jürgen Freilich eem optreden geven met clip dag mooie Bob.

Sluiting Spookslot

Op de laatste dag was er een heuse rode loper gecreëerd en wachtrijen gemaakt bij de doorgang naar Piraña.
Het was een heel raar gevoel vooral omdat het Spookslot diep in mijn hart zat. Verschillende keren die dag het Spookslot bezocht. Op het einde de definitieve sluiting niet mee kunnen maken. Alles erom heen was afgesloten.

Wederom een sprookjesachtige mooie Efteling geschiedenis om nooit te vergeten!

Hallo ik ben Dennis en ben samen met john Lemmen in het bestuur als moderator van deze Wereld vol wonderen Efteling fanclub! Ik ben 37 jaar oud. Ik ben kinds af aan ben ik al gek op de Efteling het is echt een magische wereld waar ik even kan genieten van het alles in deze sprookjeswereld. Het mooiste aan het attractiepark is het sprookjesbos! De leukste attracties vind ik toch wel de vliegende Hollander,Symbolica en droomvlucht. De stoomtrein bezoek ik ook graag waar in je heerlijk door het park kunt genieten van al het moois wat het attractiepark te bieden heeft echt een betoverende wereld voor jong en oud.

Mocht je ons tegen komen in het attractiepark vraag gerust om ons visitekaartje! Zo mis je geen enkel betoverend moment.

Hello let me introducé myself to you, I am John Lemmen 

I've actually always been connected to the fairytale park. It started from my birth, an Anton Pieck birth announcement was sent. It already sounds like a fairy tale But let me really start it started like this: In the year 1985 I was first introduced to the amusement park with my parents. I couldn't get away from the Indian water lilies and was terrified of the big monkey in the Carnival Festival Through school we also went by default every year after Efteling and then I started to be really impressed how it is all there. An amusement park that touched me what other amusement parks didn't do with me. I talked and drew a lot about it as a child. We had slides and posters of the Efteling hanging in the classroom. I also looked at it quite a lot if I could, it made me very curious. Especially because the park felt so nice and like a safe harbour where you could let go of everything. I was also allowed to have the posters and slides from school later.

I had a great wish from a young age that many here probably had or have? What you would later like to take as a profession as your real job. I really wanted to work in Efteling myself. I played a lot of Efteling music with my parents in the company at the time. Employees also really liked that I was such a fan of the Efteling. One of the employees had family working at the Efteling and she heard about my hobby I sometimes got something nice from them including: the current Pardoes and more gift! I'm still very happy with this and I'm never going to get rid of it. Years went by and that desire remained present to want to work there.

In the year 1997 I decided to apply to the amusement park! At the time there was no e-mail and it was by letter! The application was provided by employment agency Randstad, Vogel rok was still under construction at the time. You saw the roller coaster completely without a building. During the application I closed during the interview! Because now it was really an application to the only real Efteling! And later I was told by phone that I hadn't become it! Too bad but I still held on to my dream! I had waited like another year. In the year 1998 again on application and I got an interview with 2 of the Efteling department chefs my grandpa and my mother were there. I also had the chance to finally tell my Efteling passion about the fact that I had been coming to their amusement park for years and that I had an Efteling garden. In the end they also said they were going to come up with something special! At the time, there was Henny Huijsman with the surprise show. What I had the conversation with, the respective chefs told me during the application that she wanted to step into Henny Huijsman's shoes for once and that the dream was put into effect at the Efteling. I was completely speechless! Suddenly there was a sudden call after another department, she wanted to send us into the park for free! It was quite a happening! My grandpa hadn't been to the park for a long time and was very impressed with everything and especially Fata Morgana. I told later at school and family etc that I had been hired by the Efteling heard very cool reactions. I was the only one who had a job there from my school.

I had to run a day of trial so take a day off at school. I was allowed to work in the environmental service, which was mainly to keep the park clean but was for a shorter duration. Ended up with the family, family of a former employee, employed by my parents. I had a room with them about 10 minutes from the Efteling. The family also worked at the Efteling, the mother of that family worked at the Efteling clothing warehouse for staff and his son as department's chief in West. My eyes opened what I was allowed to see there and experience a time to never forget. I had worked on the Anton Pieckplein where I was allowed to sweep carrousels and people Laaf windows including Holle bolle Gijs who literally thanks every cleaning! A fairy tale that came out!

Pardoes 

In my work period, Pardoes the magic didn't have a real permanent place to greet visitors and take pictures. Suddenly Pardoes' cart appeared on the Anton Pieckplein. And stopped at the Anton Pieck carrousel. The lady who supported Pardoes walked up to me and asked if Pardoes could go around 1 to 2 laps on the Anton Pieck carrousel! Of course I went completely into the question! Pardoes had the greatest fun and completely involved me. At the end, Pardoes ran the sorger's fool up to me and gave me a big High five. Such a magical moment!

 It also happened that I worked in other locations including Dream Flight on the assembly line in and exit, Villa Volta at the entrance gates and main show or Hugo's living room!

Villa Volta 

Sometimes we had a hilarious moment among each other.The colleague who operated all the buttons told in the main show that it was a colleague's birthday when that was not the case! Everyone applauded in the main show which was a hugely funny moment.

I was also allowed to work in the Efteling main parking lot. Where I had to guide the guest to their relevant parking lot!

One day Efteling employees also received training where you were made aware of how to react to a different situation! Because every guest is different. Then ended with a tour of attraction of your choice. A real friendly lady from Efteling communications department represented the tour! We were with a large group. The choice was made quickly Spookslot & Villa Volta would be it! It was a totally different world that was not seen for the outside guests! But incredibly fascinating for the real Efteling lovers. For example, I had the opportunity to participate in the ghost carrousel in the real basement of the Spookslot. Later in the day, park guests told me during my work whether I had been counterfeited in Spookslot. Very nice

Spontaneous Tour

I myself also had a spontaneous tour of my department chief at Dream flight. Was really speechless! The Dream Flight can see scenes in any angle height and below the scenes.

New plans for the Anton Pieckplein,

There were real plans for the Anton Pieck square. These plans were announced at the kitchen table in our canteen. Which allowed us to see all the design and the construction drawings for the year 2003.as we now know the Anton Pieck square.

I have never been able to let go of the park as you read. Whether it's old or brand new in terms of attractions, fairy tales I embrace it with all my love. I now also have a facebook- group for 6 years the (World of Wonders Efteling fan club) that we and my partner are very proud of. We get there a lot in the Efteling. In my school days when I worked at Efteling, I also received spontaneous visits to the park from teachers and classmates and family, they came to see how I worked there, that was so cool!

Now nowadays I have a year- subscription to the Efteling and the Efteling virus I still have the Efteling still amazes me. After years I got back into contact with the teachers and they also literally apologised as a school for making me such an Efteling fan! I had a laugh and also told me that I'm still coming there with a lot of pleasure.

Special memories,

Opening Bird Rok

A special invitation to Opening Bird Skirt. Here too, the Efteling was still in hibernation. There were drinks and appetisers present and afterwards allowed to make a ride in Bird Rok. Then there were interactive elements in the queue and in between the laser show. So that the wait was more pleasant!

Opening the Flying Dutchman

I was also allowed to attend the opening of the flying dutchman. While the theme park was still in its hibernation. Very special moment where many invitees were present. One moment to never forget.

Former designer Ton van de Ven

A day in the amusement park wonderfully walking through the park! Suddenly Ton van de Ven came running! I greeted Ton van de Ven and he responded with a smile and waved. My day couldn't be more bad. A few months later we were told the sad news that Ton van de Ven had passed away. Namely September 16, 2015. I was just as deeply touched! Very happy that I was able to greet him! The Efteling was Ton van de Ven his child.

Preview Fairy Tale The Six Swans

There were closed fences around the fairy tale when displaying the invitation if you take a look at the fairy tale and sit in the swans. So 2 options possible. Always very nice to be almost the first to discover something in the Efteling. The designer still compliments on his wonderful projects. My day was complete.

First Opening Days Fairy Tales

E stood in a mega long line on the first day to see the fairy tale. And what impressive it was everyone was mega quiet.

Cinderella

First day was also a mega long line through the garden of the Cinderella country huys.Cinderella's stepsisters were also present in the garden and interacted with the waiting visitors

Python opening day

Exclusive souvenirs were sold including a Python nut pins sweaters and more. There was a mega long line up to the Mermaid. Later, songs were exchanged so you could be sure. That you were in possession of one of exclusive Python souvenirs. The Python ran very smoothly through the track again.

André Rieu

In the Efteling, André Rieu came to give his show on the forecourt of the imposing Efteling theatre. (André Rieu in Wonderland) is a concert by Limburg violinist André Rieu, recorded at various locations in the Efteling in June 2007. The concerts were broadcast on TV (on November 16 and 23, 2007 at the TROS and

DVDs and CDs are sold. It was a fantastic show to remember so magical. And where better to do that than in the Efteling. During a rainy shower, a short break was taken and we were offered drinks under the hood of Huys van de Vijfzintuigen. The performance was also over, but the recordings continued for a while. André Rieu said that we were still allowed to stay as a guest. In retrospect, when I bought the DVD, I found out I was recorded. In the song with the Dream Flight residents really mega fantastic. The most beautiful gift you can give someone. Many hours reversed and enjoyed.

I was allowed to attend the opening of The Flying dutchman. While the theme park was still in its hibernation. Very special moment where many invitees were present. One moment to never forget.

Collect

I collect Efteling items where I managed to tap a very old Red Riding Hood & Long Neck figurine. Which I had twice. I thought carefully about which destinations options I would take. Sell or approach the Efteling? In the end I had approached the Efteling! And got a message back very quickly from the Efteling archive. That they were interested. Finally an appointment scheduled with the Efteling Archivist! Proud that I was. I then travelled to the Efteling. A very pleasant conversation arose with the real Efteling Archivist. Then the figurines are handed over to the Efteling. With the condition that they would be exhibited in the room of Toon and Bets they liked that! That is the space where the television is located. The figurines have now been on display for years. They are in the right showcase at the door to the outside! On the side where you see the puppet theatre and the crowned Duck.

Last opening day of the Bob

It was a very special day and being able to make a very last ride in the Bob where a pin was sold shirts button and flags! In conclusion, Jürgen Freilich came to give a performance with clip day beautiful Bob.

Spookslot

On the last day, a real red carpet had been created and queues had been made at the passage to Piraña.It was a very strange feeling especially because the Spookslot was deep in my heart. Several times that day visited the Spookslot. In the end, unable to experience the final closure. Everything around it was closed.

Once again a fairytale beautiful Efteling history to remember!

Hello I am Dennis and am on the board together with john Lemmen as moderator of this World of wonders Efteling fan club! I am 37 years old. I'm a child off I already love Efteling it's really a magical world where I can enjoy everything in this fairytale world.

The most beautiful thing about the amusement park is the fairytale forest! I think the best attractions are the flying Dutchman, Symbolica and dream flight.
